Daniel has over 13 years of experience in the solar photovoltaic industry as a renewable energies consultant and project manager. He currently serves as a project manager for UL Renewable’s Due Diligence Team in Iberia and Latin America, with focus on solar energy projects. He has relevant experience in lender’s technical due diligence review and independent engineering services and owner’s engineer tasks for solar PV projects developed worldwide.
Santiago, currently Business Development Manager for Spain and Southern Africa, has worked for First Solar for more than 4 years. He is involved in different business lines such as O&M and business development for various markets including Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Santiago holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.
Viviana is a Senior Business Developer at European Energy Exchange (EEX). She is currently responsible for the integration of renewables in the European Power Derivatives segment. In particular, Viviana focuses on how PPAs and increasing merchant risk are affecting the hedging needs of EEX members and the wider players in the renewable energy industry.
Bruce is the Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer. He coordinates the RE-Source Platform and is Co-Chairman of the Global Solar Council. Additionally, he coordinates operations and business development activities to deliver maximum value to members and other key stakeholders in the solar power sector. His personal ambition is to accelerate the energy transition towards 100% renewable energy.
José has been working in the renewable sector for more than 25 years. In 2012 he became General Director of UNEF (Spanish National Photovoltaic Association). At the same time, he is President of the Spanish Photovoltaic Platform of R+D (Fotoplat) and Member of the Advisory Council of the Organization of Electricity Market (OMEL). Besides, he is professor in the post grade course in Wind Energy of the University Polytechnic of Madrid and in the Master Course of the Industrial Organization School.
Markus is the founder and CEO of the company Solar Promotion GmbH, an internationally operating, private trade fair company. In 1991 he founded Intersolar, the world´s leading exhibition series for the solar industry and in 2014 the ees (electrical energy storage) exhibition, which has become Europe's largest exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems. In 2018 he founded The smarter E Europe, the innovation platform for events and topics of the new energy world.
Roger joined Banco Sabadell in 2002 in the structured finance department. In 2008 he became Head of Corporate Finance Barcelona and in 2013 he was appointed Head of the newly created Middle Market Department until January 2019 when he became Head of Project Finance and Specialized Lending Department. Roger has a College Degree from American University in Washington DC, a MBA from ESADE Business School and PDG from IESE Business School.
Daniel is an industrial engineer and Msc on energy sector from ICAI - comillas university Madrid. He has 15 years of experience in the Spanish power and gas markets. As of 2015 he is energy management director for engie in Spain, leading optimization and trading activities for a portfolio of 2 GW gas, 1 GW wind pv and hydro (most under construction), 20 twh year of gas and 10twh year of power traded with upstreamers, midstreamers and downstreamers (700 clients from Giants and b2b)
Tomás is the Managing Director of the Solar & Wind Projects business in Spain & Portugal at BayWa r.e. since January 2019. In this role, he leads the team responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale solar and wind projects in the Iberian peninsula. Prior to this role, Tomás was the Head of Business Development EMEA, Energy Group at Canadian Solar (2017-2018).
Sam joined Octopus in 2014 and is part of Octopus Energy Investments senior management team and Investment Committee. He co-leads the transactions team, with a focus on unsubsidised renewables. Prior to joining Octopus he was an Investment Director at Platina Partners, responsible for investing in pan-European wind power and corporate turnaround transactions.
Nicolas is a founder of Green Giraffe, a financial advisory boutique specialised in renewables with 80 employees in 5 offices in Europe and South Africa. Nicolas heads Green Giraffe’s solar department and also covers most of the French transactions of the company. Before founding Green Giraffe 10 years ago, Nicolas spent 5 years as a project finance banker in the renewable energy sector.
Joan is IDAE’s General Director since July 2018. He is a lawyer specialised in urban planning and environmental law and is an Associate Professor at the University of Girona. Joan was Member of the Spanish Parliament and parliamentary spokesperson of the Green Left Group (Grupo Izquierda Verde-IU-ICV) in the legislatures between 2004-2008 and 2008-2010. Afterwards he became Member of Parliament and President of the ICV-EUiA Group in the Parliament of Catalonia.
Jens has worked on a variety of PPA negotiation across the Nordics, Spain and Italy at Pexapark. Prior to joining the firm, Jens spent 10 years at Axpo Trading, with the last three years in Origination. He has structured and managed energy off-take agreements from renewable energy sources, build up the direct marketing business of Axpo in Switzerland and closed Pan-European Supply agreements with large industrial customers. Jens holds a Master in Power Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
Paula is an engineer working in Red Eléctrica since 2011. After a background in the electricity market, she is currently working at the Control Center Department. At present, she is actively involved in the daily functioning of the Control Center for Renewable Energies (CECRE) and is participating in several coordination projects within ENTSO-E, both with other TSOs and with DSOs, such as the implementation if the System Operation Guideline and Coordinet.

Raúl is the founder and CEO of Soltec Renewable Energies. Thanks to his training in Engineering, he has led Soltec for fifteen years at the highest level as a manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar tracking equipment. During this time, the company has grown until having more than 700 employees around the world with factories in Argentina, Brazil, China and Spain, as well as offices in Australia, Denmark, India, Israel, Mexico and Peru, among others.
Paul has been responsible for setting up and managing the Spanish market for microinverter manufacturer APsystems since 2018. Having many years experience in solar PV back in his native UK, and having recently completed a start-up in Spain for a manufacturer of electric vehicle charge points, Paul is back in the industry he loves the most, solar photovoltaic, although he sees the obvious synergies between EV´s and the production of green energy.
Pablo is the CEO and co-founder of POWERTIS, a utility-scale solar developer aiming to lead the transaction to corporate PPA and bilateral markets in Spain and Brazil. Pablo’s professional background includes developing of 2+ GW of renewable projects in EU and the US, as well as pioneering solar development in several countries in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
