Daniel Barandalla, Senior Project Manager, UL Renewables

Daniel has over 13 years of experience in the solar photovoltaic industry as a renewable energies consultant and project manager. He currently serves as a project manager for UL Renewable’s Due Diligence Team in Iberia and Latin America, with focus on solar energy projects. He has relevant experience in lender’s technical due diligence review and independent engineering services and owner’s engineer tasks for solar PV projects developed worldwide.

José Donoso, General Director, UNEF, Spain

José has been working in the renewable sector for more than 25 years. In 2012 he became General Director of UNEF (Spanish National Photovoltaic Association). At the same time, he is President of the Spanish Photovoltaic Platform of R+D (Fotoplat) and Member of the Advisory Council of the Organization of Electricity Market (OMEL). Besides, he is professor in the post grade course in Wind Energy of the University Polytechnic of Madrid and in the Master Course of the Industrial Organization School.

Markus Elsässer, CEO, Solar Promotion International GmbH, Germany

Markus is the founder and CEO of the company Solar Promotion GmbH, an internationally operating, private trade fair company. In 1991 he founded Intersolar, the world´s leading exhibition series for the solar industry and in 2014 the ees (electrical energy storage) exhibition, which has become Europe's largest exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems. In 2018 he founded The smarter E Europe, the innovation platform for events and topics of the new energy world.

Roger Font Garcia, Head of Project Finance, Banco Sabadell, Spain

Roger joined Banco Sabadell in 2002 in the structured finance department. In 2008 he became Head of Corporate Finance Barcelona and in 2013 he was appointed Head of the newly created Middle Market Department until January 2019 when he became Head of Project Finance and Specialized Lending Department. Roger has a College Degree from American University in Washington DC, a MBA from ESADE Business School and PDG from IESE Business School. 

Isabel García, Directora Comercialización Energía, Engie, Spain

Tomás García, Managing Director, BayWa r.e., Spain & Portugal

Tomás is the Managing Director of the Solar & Wind Projects business in Spain & Portugal at BayWa r.e. since January 2019. In this role, he leads the team responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale solar and wind projects in the Iberian peninsula. Prior to this role, Tomás was the Head of Business Development EMEA, Energy Group at Canadian Solar (2017-2018).

Sam Goss, Investment Director, Octopus Investments

Sam joined Octopus in 2014 and is part of Octopus Energy Investments senior management team and Investment Committee. He co-leads the transactions team, with a focus on unsubsidised renewables. Prior to joining Octopus he was an Investment Director at Platina Partners, responsible for investing in pan-European wind power and corporate turnaround transactions.

Nicolas Gourvitch, Founder, Green Giraffe

Nicolas is a founder of Green Giraffe, a financial advisory boutique specialised in renewables with 80 employees in 5 offices in Europe and South Africa. Nicolas heads Green Giraffe’s solar department and also covers most of the French transactions of the company. Before founding Green Giraffe 10 years ago, Nicolas spent 5 years as a project finance banker in the renewable energy sector.

Walburga Hemetsberger, CEO, SolarPower Europe, Belgium

Walburga is the CEO of SolarPower Europe. Walburga has been working in Brussels for more than 18 years in different positions, mostly in the energy sector. Before joining SolarPower Europe in February 2019, Walburga headed the VERBUND Representation Office in Brussels for nine years. During the last two years at VERBUND she took up the position of board member of Hydrogen Europe.

Jens Hollstein, Senior PPA Manager, Pexapark

Sam Kimmins, Head of RE100, Europe/UK

RE100 brings together the world's most influential companies committed to 100% renewable power. Sam has 20 years’ experience leading sustainability projects in the shipping, aviation, food, construction and NGO sectors. Prior to joining RE100, Sam spearheaded Forum for the Future’s Sustainable Shipping Initiative, which recently won the Guardian Sustainable Business Award for innovative consultancy.

Raúl Morales, CEO, Soltec

Raúl is the founder and CEO of Soltec Renewable Energies. Thanks to his training in Engineering, he has led Soltec for fifteen years at the highest level as a manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar tracking equipment. During this time, the company has grown until having more than 700 employees around the world with factories in Argentina, Brazil, China and Spain, as well as offices in Australia, Denmark, India, Israel, Mexico and Peru, among others.

Ferrán Nogué, Co-founder & New Ventures, Holaluz, Spain

Pablo Otín, CEO & Co-Founder, Powertis

Pablo is the CEO and co-founder of POWERTIS, a utility-scale solar developer aiming to lead the transaction to corporate PPA and bilateral markets in EU and selected markets in Latin America. Pablo’s professional background includes developing of 2+ GW of renewable projects across the globe and pioneering solar development in several countries in Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Pilar Sánchez Molina, responsable for Spanish content / LATAM editor, PV Magazine, Spain/LATAM

Pilar worked as managing editor for an international solar magazine, in addition to editing books, primarily in the fields of literature and art. She joined pv magazine in May 2017, where she manages the Spanish newsletter and website and helps write and edit articles for the daily news section in Latin America.
